Ujjain - Kumbh Mela

Ujjain, one of famous pilgrimage destination of country holds a significant religious importance due to two reasons, This Chhipra river bank city is one among the four cities where "Kumbh Mela" is held. The city is also known as city of Mahakal [Lord Shiva] as out of 12 Jyotrilings of country one is situated here. Temple here is unique and only of its kind because here idol of Lord Shiva is Dakshanmukhi [South facing]. Most celebrated festival of city is Maha Shivratari.  

How to reach Ujjain by Train

Ujjain is on the Bhopal - Nagada track of western railway and have good train links.

How to reach Ujjain by Road

There is very frequent bus service between Ujjain and Indore. City also have good web of roads for all other major cities.
