Red Fort [Lal Qila] - Delhi - India

Red Fort - Lal Qila - DelhiThis one of the finest fort of India which still standing with glory of past and royal status was constructed by Mogul King Shah Jahan between 1638 and 1648. Red stone is the main construction constituent of this walls of this about 2 km long fort so the origin of name lies here. Attractions of forts are inclusive of Lahore gate - main entrance, Diwan-i-Am (hall for public audiences), Diwan-i-Khas (hall for private audiences), Rang Mahal (water-cooled apartment of royal ladies), and the Moti Masjid [Pearl Mosque].white marble stone was used for the construction of mosque, constitutes most important interior of the fort.

Presently fort is the place where official celebrations of independence day of country starts with Flag hoisting by Prime Minister. This mughul era monument is glorified by inclusion in world heritage sites of UNESCO.
