Purana Qila - DelhiIn the Delhi if you are on the Pragati Maidan you sure to notice a high wall running parallel to you for a distance of about 2 km. this is the boundary wall of the fort build by Muslim King Humayun and called as Purana Qila [Old Fort] by most of Delhi citizens. At the time of construction fort was with thirteen gates including Bada darwaza used for entering the fort. Historically the site of this fort believed to be ancient city Indraprastha of Mahabharat era hence this fort went under many excavations for searching a decisive evidence. though age has proved an important hurdle for the preservation of the fort but still Qila-i-kuhna masjid is there to reflect the mogul architectural excellence.
