This Tapti river bank city dates back to Medieval history. City was the south controlling center during the time of Mogul Kingdom, who used to call near by Asirgad fort as "Dakhkhan Ka Darwaza". In the religious places related with Sikhism, city holds unique place as here at Gurudwara Badi Sangat, copy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji is there , written with golden ink by tenth Sikh Guru Dhansri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. There are many historic monuments related with Islam.
