This
is the ancestral home of Maharaja of Kashi. This red sandstone
fort was built by Maharaja Balwant Singh in the 18th century
on the city opposing banks of most scared river Ganga.
Distance between the fort and present city heart is about 15
km. Darbar Hall reflecting islamic style of architecture is
the most significant interior of the fort. Presently there is
a museum called Ramnagar fort Palace museum for displaying the
glorious past in the form of vintage Cars, Royal palkies, an
armory of swords and old guns, ivory work and antique clocks,
A big clock displaying astronomical facts along with year,
month, week and day goes deep in the visitor's mind.
Durga Temple, Chhinnamastika Temple and temple of Dakshin
Mukhi Hanuman are other places of tourist attraction within
the walls of fort.
