These
world famous temples known for the architectural excellence
are located in the central Indian state Madhya Pradesh. stone
sculptures of these temples is so expressive that visitor gets
a very clear and perfect image of life style and artistic
sense of the era of their construction. Construction of these
temples was started by Yasovarman (AD 954) who constructed a
temple dedicated to God Vishnu [Presently known as Lakshmana
temple] during the time of king Dhanga temples like Visvanatha,
Parsvanatha and Vaidyanatha etc. constructed.
The most impressive temple of Khajuraho is the immortal
Kandariya Mahadeva, which was bult king Ganda (AD 1017-29)
some other significant temples are Amana, Adinatha, Javari,
Chaturbhuj and Duladeo. There were 85 temples
constructed in all out of these only 22 are in good condition.
This temple complex was included in World Heritage of UNESCO
in the year 1986.
