Chandigad - Chandigarh - Haryana
Chandigrah is the first planned city (planned by the
famous French architect Le Corbusier) of free India for
which conceptual sketches were drawn by Albert Mayer and
Mathew Novicki in the year 1950. Today the Chandigad is
the capital city for two neighboring states Punjab and
Haryana but still is administrated separately, as a Union
Territory. The city was planned with theme of
"Sun, Space and Verdure".
In the sport arena of country Chandigarh holds very
important place as Kapil Dev Nikhanj, was captain of Indian
Cricket team which won ODI world cup in 1983 and Abinav
Bindra, who brought country's ever first individual
Olympic Gold Medal in 2008 both belongs to this city.
