Propagation
and expansion of Buddhism in India and King Ashoka run on the
parallel lines as King Ashoka was instrumental for constructed
several Stupas, pillars and sanctuaries at Sanchi, which are
today known as Buddhist Monuments and included on World
Heritage list of UNESCO.
King Ashoka constructed eight Stupas at Sanchi including
Ashoka Stupa which is decorated with balustrades.
