In
the Deccan region of India, Adil Shahi Dynasty, founded by
Adil Shah [1557-1579] hold a significant place as during their
regime not only Bijapur kingdom stretched up to Mysore but
also many palaces, pavilions, gardens and forts were
constructed to consolidate kingdom. Bijapur fort is one
of best illustration of Mugal architectural excellence in
India.
Bijapur is close to Belgaum [about 200km] is nearest airport
and there is good effective road links between two cities but
most tourist prefer Bangalore and Mumbai for reaching here.
